PPT E Details
PPT-E8 (8 sensor system)
The eight sensor system includes eight optical sensors, a PPT processor computer with control software, cable connections, and four infrared targets. The eight camera system includes the following advantages over the four sensor system: 1) maximum coverage of tracking workspace (practically no ‘dead’ tracking zones), 2) optimal elimination of line-of-sight occlusion, 3) optimal robustness and precision.
PPT-E4 (4 sensor system)
The four sensor system includes four optical sensors, the PPT processing unit, the easy-to-use PPT motion capture software, cable connections, and four infrared targets. The PPT-E system has the following advantages over the original PPT-X system: (1) Higher resolution cameras providing improved sensitivity and accuracy, (2) faster update rates of 180 Hz, (3) improved range up to 20 meters **, (4) ability to track up to 32 targets with up to 32 cameras *.
Features
- Camera range up to 20 meters **
- Power over Ethernet (only one cable)
- Instant calibration
- Fully wireless targets
- Up to 32 optical sensors *
- Sub-millimeter precision
- Supports 3DOF position, or 6DOF position and orientation with optional sensor cubes
- Less than 20 milliseconds latency
- Easy installation
- Resilience to metallic interference
- No strobe lights needed
- Competitive price
- Improved accuracy, range, and performance
(*) Actual update rate depends on the number of targets and number of cameras. Please contact WorldViz for details on this tradeoff
(**) For a marker to be tracked, it must be visible by two or more cameras. Overall tracking space dimensions are determined by the camera range, camera layout, and background lighting
Ease of Use
The intuitive graphical user interface includes a wizard for instant calibration using a digital calibration board. PPT directly connects to the WorldViz Vizard VR toolkit. DLLs for Windows, and a C source library for Linux are available. Simple streaming or polling via RS-232 serial port 115.2kbs interface, as well as using the industry standard VRPN protocol.
Position & Orientation Tracking
Are you looking for a 6DOF integrated position & orientation real-time tracking solution? WorldViz recommends combining PPT with an inertial orientation technology such as the InertiaCube2™ by InterSense. This hybrid system has proven itself as one of the most powerful and highly reliable full tracking solutions currently available.
