A graphics card that is capable of both DirectX 9 Direct3D rendering and support for DirectX 9 VMR (Video Mixing Renderer) component.
You can verify DirectX 9 Direct3D rendering by using the DxDiag tool that comes with DirectX. Go to the Control Panel and select DirectX. On the DirectX tab select the DxDiag button. Verify that the "Direct 3D" button is selectable.
When the message "Unable to play movies using this graphics card and driver" appears, it is likely that the installed graphics card is unable to support the VMR component
