1. EST now distributor for ASL

ASL (Applied Science Laboratories) develops eye tracking systems for over 25 years. ASL systems are used worldwide in such diverse fields as human factors and ergonomics, marketing research, psychology and cognition, and education and training.
ASL uses the following terms to define performance for its eye trackers:

Accuracy
The expected difference in degrees of visual angle between true eye position and mean computed eye position during a fixation.
Resolution
The smallest change in eye position that can be measured.
Precision
The amount of instrument noise (jitter) in the eye position measurement when the eye is stationary.

ASL eye tracking systems are compatible with the Ascension Flock of Birds and the Polhemus FASTRAK magnetic head tracking systems for work in most environments. For environments where metallic interference is a problem, however, ASL eye trackers can now be used with the InterSense IS-600. The IS-600 is based on a hybrid of inertial and ultrasonic sensing technologies.

2. ReachIn selects EST as distributor in Germany and Austria

The vision of ReachIn Technologies AB is to become a world leading player in the multi-sensory 3D-based Medical Training and Industrial Design and Engineering sectors. The company has already positioned itself as having developed the most innovative computer interface – the Reach-in HCI (Human Computer Interface) - that can mimic real world operations with a combination of touch and sight.
The ReachIn Display is a unique Human-Computer Interface. The system combines a stereo-visual display, a haptic device and a 6-degree-of-freedom positioner. The user interacts with the virtual world using one hand for navigation and control and the other hand to touch and feel the virtual objects. The innovative use of a semi-transparent mirror creates an interface where graphics and haptics are co-located -the user can see and feel the object in the same place!
Combined with ReachIn's Magma api, the ReachIn Display is the perfect development platform for advanced VR applications that include the sense of touch. Magma is a modern object oriented C++ application programming interface for creating real world touch applications with an unprecedented fidelity and sense of reality. Magma manages the technology of multi-sensory rendering, freeing the user to focus on application behavior.
