1. Kaydara launches new Motionbuilder at Siggraph 2002

Motionbuilder™ is the only real-time 3D character animation software on the market today. Real-time 3D animation means that there is no waiting for rendering to see what your outcome will be. There are no limited resolution, limited frame-rate previews. You playback the animation as it will look as a finished product, so you know exactly what you are getting every time. Real-time 3D animation means projects have a shorter time to market and thus a quicker return on investment.
The drag and drop approach to 3D character animation is fast and easy to use. Artists create in Motionbuilder™ using many of the same concepts that are widely used in current 2D content creation packages. There is as much or as little control over parameters as the artist desires. Features like automatic character rigging and motion blending let you use content from a variety of sources in the same easy-to-use work environment.
The intuitive, contextual approach to content creation significantly lowers its learning curve. When objects or elements are selected, the tools and properties for that object or element become instantly available in the interface. The tools that you would need to modify any of those elements are automatically ready for you to use.

Motionbuilder will ship in August 2002.

2. InterSense IS900-Tracker WIRELESS now avaliable

InterSense designed its' wireless technology with field proven 2.4 GHz spread spectrum technology. The current MiniTrax devices plug into a small, belt clip module containing a rechargeable battery and transceiver circuitry. As with the original MiniTrax devices, the new wireless implementation is ergonomically designed for use with existing data gloves and stereo glasses.

IS 900 wireless features:

- Spread spectrum 2.4 GHz frequency hopping communications for interference free operation. Approved for use in US, Canada and Europe.

- The rechargeable lithium ion battery provides 6 to 8 hours of continuous operation. Auto sleep circuitry detects periods of non-use to conserve battery power. Auto connect circuitry reestablishes tracking communication to IS-900 Processor without system reset.

- Interfaces to MiniTrax Head, Hand and High Accuracy Head Tracking Devices. Wireless wand with integrated transceiver/battery pack also available. Supports four simultaneous tracked devices in both wired and/or wireless configurations.

- The Wireless Receiver and Transmitter pairs are plug compatible with your current IS-900 VET, VWT and SimTracker systems.

3. Inhouse Show at LRZ in Munich

See the Ascension laserBird, FCS HapticMaster, Kaydara FilmBox/Motionbuilder Software, InterSense IS900 wireless devices and SimTracker, Microvision Nomad Retinal Scanning Display....on September, 26th, 2002 at the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum in Munich. During that day several workshops will be held.
