1. EST now distributes Acuitiv Software from Fuel Tech

ACUITIV software was developed as a CFD post processing and visualization tool by Fuel Tech Inc. -
a leader in air pollution control, process optimization, and advanced engineering services.

ACUITIV™ version 3.2 software is true 3D for exploring complex data sets. FUEL TECH has used
this software for several years in the analysis of computational fluid dynamics simulation results.
This same software has evolved into a generalized application that affordably delivers the power of
3D visualization.

ACUITIV software was designed from the ground up to work with a large variety of display hardware,
or with nothing more than a laptop. You choose how to explore the world generated from your 3D data.
It includes all of the major features you expect in advanced visualization software. Flow animation,
streamlines, contour planes, data extraction, user configurability... are at your command in an
immersive, interactive environment.

The ACUITIV product works with a laptop, a CAVE® and everything in between.
There is no need for customized programming. ACUITIV software operates the same way in all
supported environments. The most popular operating systems - UNIX, LINUX and Windows® 2000 are
available. CAD models in STL format can be merged with your CFD data sets for visualization.

2. CMLabs signs EST as reseller for their Vortex software

CMLabs specializes in physics-based behavior modeling software and services for interactive
3D simulations. The feature technology, Vortex, is a powerful dynamics engine, based on fundamental
Newtonian physics. It enables applications developers to build physically accurate motion and object
interaction for realtime simulation applications.

of a 3-D image by means of video, by far superior in quality to other 3-D solutions, because a
3-D-solution is offered without the loss of either image information or light intensity. Moreover it
enables the view of 3-D images without the need for additional polarizing or other auxiliary glasses.

Specifications:
- Resolution: Stereo 800 x 600 color (equals 1,440,000 pixels)
- Field of View: 40° diagonal (4:3, 32° horiz, 24° vert)
- Input signals: Composite video, S-video in NTSC or PAL SVGA 800 x 600,
24bit @ 60/75/80/100Hz

Please get in touch with us if you need a customized HMD with the specifications of the 3-Scope.

6. MicroOptical Corp. releases Instrument Viewer SV-3

By projecting the equivalent of a full-size screen two feet in front of your eyes, the SV-3 heralds a new era
of data presentation - one where information is truly portable, presented hands-free and and doesn¹t
block your view.
With its ultra-lightweight construction, ergonomic design, and ability to attach to eyeglasses and safety
glasses, the SV-3 Instrument Viewer™ is the perfect solution, even for all day use.
Compatible with all oscilloscopes and other instruments with a VGA output, the SV-3 requires nothing
more than a 640x480 signal at 60 HZ to deliver a 64-color image.

7. Imaging Interactive Systems Second Sight available from EST

Second Sight is a portable High Res viewer, designed for Pocket PC handhelds. Second Sight connects
directly to virtually any CompactFlash or PCMCIA slot. The software allows for full VGA
screen information (640 x 480 pixels) to be displayed on the Second Sight display. If your application
demands higher resolution then you can get with a standard PDA, Second Sight may be the perfect solution.

8. Haptic Workstation by Immersion

The Haptic Workstation is the culmination of more than 10 years of research and development
synergistically brought together in a single 3D-interaction product. The system includes right-hand and
left-hand CyberForce whole-hand force-feedback systems mounted behind the user on vertically adjustable
columns. This permits both seated and standing configurations. The CyberForce-systems apply
ground-referenced forces to each of the fingers and hands.

The Haptic Workstation optionally comes with:
- An electrically adjustable car seat
- A head-mounted display (HMD)
- Immersion's hand-interaction software that loads CAD models

The Haptic Workstation has been designed with an unobstructed forward view, allowing a CAVE™ environment

assemble-ability, and maintenance of your CAD design.

9. Ascension offers new interactive device Wanda and lowers prices for Nest of Birds

Ascension Technology Corporation has acquired worldwide sales and distribution rights for the WANDA 3D
Navigation Device. A hybrid mouse-joystick "wand" with three programmable buttons, WANDA was designed to
manipulate 3D objects in a virtual environment using an embedded 6 degrees-of-freedom sensor.

WANDA can be used in free space, unlike a typical mouse or joystick. It is ideal for CAVE environments, enabling
superior 3D graphic control and manipulaiton for physical modeling, virtual reality, interactive games and virtual
prototyping. WANDA can be used as an add-on to several Ascension motion trackers - MotionStar Wired, MotionStar Wireless,
Flock of Birds and pcBIRD.

Ascension Technology has lowered the price of its versatile 4-sensor Nest of Birds™ motion tracker. Lean
manufacturing initiatives improved the Nest of Birds' production process allowing Ascension to drop the price for a
full-up tracker. This lower price makes the Nest more accessible to users and gives them a greater choice of
Ascension tracking options.

Suitable for head, hand and instrument tracking, the Nest tracks position and orientation with 6 DOF in real time. With the
ability to track four sensors simultaneously using a dedicated processor for each sensor, the Nest achieves the highest
measurement rates possible regardless of the number of sensors tracked.
