1. EST becomes reseller for SEOS HMD 120/40
********************************************************************************

HMD 120/40 is an innovative, lightweight stereo SXGA head mounted display with a large field of view.
Specifically designed for simulation and visualization purposes, its mass is less than a kilogram
when fitted with head tracking and allows the user to interact with a virtual environment in a way
that has not previously been possible.

Innovative Technology:
HMD 120/40 incorporates a patented new catadioptric eyepiece developed by SEOS, which is not
conventionally refractive. The result is a large pupil, providing high tolerance to eyeball movement without
losing regions of the field of view. It also incorporates a wide range of optical correction (+/- 4 diopter),
so that spectacle wearers can be accommodated (removing the spectacles). The image distance can
be varied from collimated to 0.25M by the use of the eyepiece focus adjustment.

Specification Summary:
Resolution: 1280 x 1024
Colour: Field-sequential
Field of View: 80° x 67° per eye
Eye Relief: 12mm
Overlap: 50% (resulting in 120x67 deg FoV with a 40x67 deg stereo overlap)
Interfaces:
DVI input: 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz.
Power supply: 115v/230v auto switching

Vizard is a versatile virtual reality development interface designed for building and rendering virtual worlds
with minimum effort. By dramatically increasing programming efficiency compared to competitor products,
Vizard makes virtual reality application development easier, faster and cheaper.

- Connect instantly to common VR hardware
- Populate your worlds with built-in avatars
- Use extensive multimedia functions
- Retain control for precise real-time work
- Python scripted interaction
- Quickly create your own plug-ins
- Easy scripting-style programming
- Import standard 3D model formats
- Extend capabilities with free C/C++ SDK
- OpenGL-based

Advantages:
Performance kept Simple
The Open GL-based architecture of Vizard has been optimized for maximum performance over 8 years of
practical use to provide fast and efficient rendering of environments. Vizard uses a popular and strongly
supported scripting language called Python as an easy interface to rapidly building interactive virtual worlds.
Connect
Vizard supports stereoscopic head-mounted displays, 3D sound and many peripheral input devices, including
head trackers and game pads. Distributed networked environments are also supported. VRML and other 3D
formats provide immediate access to large 3D databases. The open-source language Python is free and has
an active user community providing a wealth of resources for applications.

Avatars - Skin & Bones
Built-in human face and body models and an accompanying behavior designer offer a powerful tool to
almost instantly insert virtual humans into existing environments. A high-level controller handles sequencing
of complex behaviors.

4. Manufacturers Special: InterSense
********************************************************************************

InterSense Inc., founded in 1996, is the market leader in miniaturized, inertial-based, precision motion tracking
technology that enables computers to 'see and understand' motion in 3D space. InterSense's motion tracking
systems have become widely used in a variety of applications, including simulation & training, virtual prototyping
and design, medical imaging, entertainment, and video/film production.
The production range starts with the InterTrax 2, IntertiaCube 2 and IS 300 pro for accurately tracking 3 Degrees
of Freedom in orientation. For its 6 Degrees of Freedom product family IS900, InterSense uses a hybrid
technology of intertial and ultrasonic tracking. The position and orientation of the tracking stations are determined
by the output of the accelerometers and gyros. Drift correction is accomplished in the advanced kalman filter by
fusing the output of the inertial sensors with range measurements obtained from the ultrasonic components. The
result is full 6-DOF data that is very smooth, precise, and free from jitter.

Advantages of the IS-900 technology include:
- Immune to metallic, acoustic, and optical interference
- Sensor design eliminates acoustic transmitter “line of sight” blockage
- Consistent accuracy over entire tracking volume
- Applications range in size from small cockpit simulators to large broadcast studios
- One-time system calibration performed during initial installation with accurate position mapping of acoustic transmitters
- Superior motion prediction algorithms
- Wireless tracking devices
- Integration of tracking devices into OEM applications

From the newest product family, IS1200, InterSense will soon release the first product. The VisTracker is a
vision-based, inertial, self tracking system that utilizes InterSense’s latest advancements in their inertial-based
sensor fusion technology. It is designed for use in mobile computing AR application and in real vehicles or cockpits.

The cost effective PCTracker is based on InterSense’s award winning IS-900 technology. Designed specifically to take
advantage of fast, Windows-based computers with modern graphics engines, the PCTracker is built for the budget
conscious user. The PCTracker is a 6 degree of freedom (6-DOF) motion tracking system utilizing InterSense’s hybrid
technology of inertial and ultrasonic tracking. The position and orientation of the tracking stations are determined with
InterSense's advanced Kalman filter algorithms which combine the output of the inertial sensors with range measurements
obtained from the ultrasonic components. The result is full 6-DOF data that is very smooth, precise, and free from jitter.
Chosen by system integrators for simplicity and its flexible configuration, the PCTracker is ideal for OEM applications.
Custom integration of tracking devices for volume applications is available from InterSense.

SensAble FreeForm:

In the short time since v7.0 has shipped, customers are adopting the new mold design functionality in the FreeForm Modeling
Plus system. In response to customer requests, the version 7.1 software adds expanded display of parting line colors to aid
users in designing moldable parts and a new method to create simple mold parting surfaces that minimizes tooling costs for
low-cost plastic part production.

The new software supports the export of mental images® .mi file format. This enables designers to boost their productivity by
using the optional mental ray version 3.3 Standalone Renderer for 32-bit Windows® systems to create photo-realistic images
independently from the FreeForm system. The FreeForm Modeling Plus v7.1 system also offers integrated rendering using the
mental ray version 3.3 rendering engine. Concurrent with the new software release, SensAble has completed certification of
several new NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards and drivers.
