quality is Elumens' patented TruTheta® Imaging
Technology. TruTheta combines advanced 3D software
algorithms with revolutionary lens design to
enable high quality projection into a hemispherical
screen. Images are always bright and in focus.
The unique TruTheta lens distributes pixels
equally throughout the hemispherical surface
eliminating distortion. Simple to use software "plug-ins" are
available for the most popular rendering packages
and make creation of images for the VisionStation
a simple and enjoyable task. Elumens' TruView
software allows users to view existing content
immediately allowing you to instantly reap
the rewards of your new VisionStation.
The Visiondome's
main projector is responsible
for filling the interior of the dome with imagery.
Only one main projector is needed per dome.
Elumens utilizes digital technology for its high resolution
projectors, which it purchases from leading
US projector manufacturers. The projectors
are completely designed and manufactured using
technology that has been refined over the past
18 years.
The projector
lens is normally located at the center of curvature of the dome and maintains this relative orientation corresponding
to the tilt of the dome. For example, domes 5 meters
in size and larger can be tilted 45 degrees; therefore,
the images are also projected at 45 degrees.
The optical
system completely fills the interior hemisphere
of the dome with a full 180 degree x 180 degree
field of view. In special applications, the lens
may be moved off center. This offers unobstructed
viewing at the cost of variable image resolution.
Elumens makes this possible with its unique, patented
achromatic optics.
