Handshake VR proSENSE Virtual Touch Toolbox

© 2005 by EST · Last updated: 05.07.2005

Handshake proSENSE™ Virtual Touch Toolbox allows developers to rapidly implement sense-of-touch and touch-over-network protocol applications. Built on the rich and well established core of Mathwork’s MATLAB® and Simulink® development platform, proSENSE allows experts and novices rapid access to haptics, network and graphics programming.

Although easy to use, Handshake proSENSE™ still offers developers the flexibility to add custom code.

The toolbox allows users to implement and interface with Haptic devices, network protocols and pre-defined Haptic effects. Sense of touch-over-networks can be achieved using Time Delay compensation methods including the Handshake proprietary TiDeC™.

Features
  • Supports multiple SensAble PHANTOM® Haptic devices
  • Provides customizable Haptic building blocks in a MATLAB®/ Simulink® environment
  • Works seamlessly with Real-Time Workshop®
  • Comprehensive help system
  • Seamless integration with Virtual Reality Toolbox
  • Sample models to get started quickly
  • Supports integration of custom C/C++ code
  • Offers proprietary network latency compensation techniques - TiDeC™

proSENSE™ Advantage

  • Integrated sense-of-touch solutions
  • Rapid development drag-and-drop environment
  • Enables network interactivity
  • Powerful productivity tool, reduces development time
  • Force data collection and analyses

Force Data Analysis

Developers are now able to track both position and force data in real time. With the versatile features of the MATLAB® application environment, in-depth post analysis of data is possible.

Now, for the first time, comprehensive force data is available to researchers in rehabilitation, medical simulation development and training environments.

Sense-of-Touch Over Networks

By incorporating Handshake's proprietary time delay compensation technology TiDeC™, proSENSE™ allows users to test and tune a wide variety of network enabled applications.

proSENSE™ Network Features

  • capability to implement and test network latency and packet loss in a simulated environment
  • user selectable network protocols
  • provides a variety of network latency compensation techniques
  • allows for auto-synchronization of network systems

Integrated Help

Handshake proSENSE™ is fully integrated with the MATLAB® help browser and provides direct access to a comprehensive library of online help, including reference pages, manuals, search capabilities and demonstrations.
