It is the only software technology available on the market today able to carry out a real-time simulation at&nbsp;<strong>near-kHz frame rate<\/strong>&nbsp;with very large, non-convex geometries. Thanks to its use of a&nbsp;<strong>voxel-based representation<\/strong>&nbsp;of physical objects, IPSI is very tolerant with respect to &#8220;dirty&#8221; geometry. IPSI can&nbsp;<strong>guarantee the non-interpenetration<\/strong>&nbsp;of objects, and set a strict value for the clearance between objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IPSI is used in the implementation of the following products by Haption:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.est-kl.com\/interactive-fitting-for-catia\/\">[IFC] Interactive Fitting for Catia<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.est-kl.com\/real-time-interaction-for-delmia\/\">[RTID] Realtime Interaction for Delmia<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.est-kl.com\/interactive-fitting-for-solidworks\/\">[IFS] Interactive Fitting for Solidworks<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.est-kl.com\/ipsi-for-v6\/\">[IV6] IPSI for V6&nbsp;&amp; 3DEXPERIENCE<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>IPSI is a physics engine and a comprehensive solution to stability problems, model complexity and precision issues in case of industrial applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-d6231b1c\"><h5 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Specification<\/h5><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>IPSI is a client\/server technology. The CPU-intensive computation is carried out by the server, which can be located on a dedicated workstation. The client is only responsible for the graphical update of the scene, so that very little workload is added to the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IPSI server integrates software modules for collision detection (LMD++) and for simulation of movement (GVM) developed by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www-list.cea.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CEA LIST<\/a>. It also integrates the software library for collision detection VPS<sup>TM<\/sup>&nbsp;(Voxmap PointShell) developed by BOEING\/Phantom Works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Distributed architecture (client\/server) based on the ONC RPC (open standard)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scenes composed of rigid bodies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simulation of simple kinematics chains (including closed
